The news we’ve been waiting for has finally gone public – we have the details of the Tim Hortons Roll Up The Rim 202 campaign – and its gunna be HUGE!
After 35 years of the classic design, Tim Hortons has modernized the iconic contest for a combination or paper & digital play for an overall more environmentally sustainable game.
This year’s Roll Up The Rim Contest will begin on March 11th and run through April 7th.
During the first 2 weeks of the contest, Physical Roll Up The Rim cups will be available in participating restaurants. Digital play will be available throughout the entire 4 weeks of the promotion.
How It Will Work
When ordering a hot beverage, registered Tims Rewards members can scan their card (or app) and receive a digital roll in the Tim Hortons app or online.
For the first 2 weeks of the contest, guests ordering hot beverages in paper cups will be given 2 rolls – 1 on the app and 1 on the physical cup. For the last 2 weeks, only digital rolls will be awarded.
Guests who purchase a hot beverage in a reusable cup or mug (does not have to be a branded Tim Hortons mug) will receive 3 digital rolls during all 4 weeks of the contest.
FREE REUSABLE CUP GIVEAWAY
To kick off the new Roll Up The Rim contest, and encourage consumers to make more sustainable choices, Tim Hortons will give out 1.8 MILLION Reusable Cups for FREE!
The free cups will be available beginning on March 10th and while supplies last.
This Year’s Prizes
There are tons of amazing prizes to be won once again in this year’s Roll Up the Rim Contest, including:

Please Play Again Replaced with 4 x $100,000 Prizes
One of consumers biggest pet peeves with Roll Up the Rim was the constant disappointment of Please Play Again. So in the new format, they have scraped the losing phrase and replaced it with a chance to win $100,000!
Guests who don’t win a prize when revealing a digital roll will be automatically entered into one of four draws for $100,000 in cash.
Overall, I’d have to say I’m personally impressed with the changes and upgrades to this tired old contest. What are your thoughts? Share them with us on our Facebook Page!
