In reply to Melissa F. I've heard that most stores stock up on cpuoon items, and that if you wait like a month the store will be discounting the item further as they have more on hand then they want and they don't want stock just sitting on the shelf.

angellisa are you talking about the black plastic shelves or the metal shelves that the food is on? i am trying to find shelving like the metal ones for my laundry/storage room that can handle big heavy rubbermaid bins as well.

Wow, what a huge stockpile LOL…. I remember when the Examiner came to our house and took pictures for the article for you and ThriftyRebecca, the reporter expected such a mass quantity from us and was ‘disappointed’ to see only one and a half shelving units for our family of three. We still only have one and a half shelving units plus a tiny one for food upstairs which is half full at best… ALL the rest is donated and considering Peterborough is such a depressed area, they REALLY appreciate everything they get from us – 1,200 lbs so far and 17 boxes to drop off this week… Jump on the band wagon, the food bank is really hurting for donations!
