In case you haven’t noticed, I hardly ever post shopping hauls anymore. Looking back, it’s been almost a year. Yikes. Where does the time go.

Well, the reason I don’t post, isn’t because I don’t coupon anymore, it’s just that I don’t coupon to the extreme I used to. Usually its only a few items at a time, hardly anything of interest.

But this weekend, I was able to score a deal so awesome, I just couldn’t help but tell you all about it!

On Friday, I noticed the Snap by Groupon rebate for Pledge changed from $6 wub2 to $6 when you buy 1! I had also noticed that Shoppers had Pledge on for $3.99 this week. Instant bells went off in my head. DEAL DEAL DEAL!! I also knew that  with all of the other savvy savers out there, this deal wasn’t likely to last long, which is why I headed out at 8am in a snow storm for this LOL Here’s the break down of what I got:

0223-shopping

12 x Pledge Products @ $3.99ea – 2x $2 wub2 webSaver coupons = $43.88
4 x Pop @ $3.49ea = $13.96
2 x Mrs Fields Cookies @ $1.99ea = $3.98 (my treat for being up so early!)
1 x Royale Toilet Paper @ $3.99
Total OOP = $65.81 (before taxes, after taxes $74.37 🙁 )
Savings of $63 from retail prices!

That’s not bad in it’s self, but it gets WAAY better!

It was also 20x Optimum Points on Saturday so I earned 13,800 Points + another 721 for using my RBC Optimum Debit Card. That’s almost $20 in Rewards on a regular redemption (more on bonus days!). Let’s bring the Total OOP down to $45.81.

Now, the icing on the cake. Back to that Pledge rebate from Snap.

As soon as I got back into the car, still in the SDM parking lot, I uploaded my receipt and claimed $72 back in cash back! WHOOP!

0223-snap

That means I got my entire purchase for FREE plus I made a profit of close to $30. AMAZING!

I haven’t even mentioned that the Coke that I bought each had a BOGO Cineplex Movie Offer code in it! Yay for free movies!

I was a little shocked when I received an email back from Snap on Saturday afternoon that my initial claim for all 12 bottles had been denied and only one approved. I sent them an email right away and heard back this morning and my account has been corrected and credited accordingly!

Now, the bad news. As with all good things, a few who over-did it (I saw some people posting they bought 100+ cans!), tainted this deal for everyone else. Snap has since restricted the Pledge rebate from unlimited redemptions to 1 per person. Hopefully some of you were also able to get in this deal!
