I don’t know how many times this has to be done, but once again, a new chicken recall is affecting Canadians.

Sofina Foods Inc. is recalling Compliments brand Chicken Strips from the marketplace to avoid possible Salmonella illnesses. The Public Health Agency of Canada is investigating an outbreak of human illness and has identified this product as a source of illness.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

The following product was sold nationally until May 1, 2019 but some consumers may still have it in their freezer.
