We moved last year into a much smaller home as well. My husband retired from his job as a heavy duty mechanic and I left my nursing career. Our town had a “free” shed that was heated and monitored. Anyone could take or leave items there. We met a lovely young couple just moving into town. They had young baby twins and a new job in town and not much else.

Long story short… they helped us pack and move and we basically furnished their first home. It was a win-win situation and they are now great friends.

Somehow we still packed too much stuff and have unopened boxes. Mainly photos and tools..lol

Hello, Am about to do a purge, as I have a host student coming from China for the new school year. My goods are going to the Salvation Army, they are a not for profit organization that will help out anyone that is in real need. CDA is a for profit corporation, that gives a very small percentage of the profits to Diabetes. Don’t be fooled. Goodwill is also the same as CDA.

That’s wonderful. I used to work for the Canadian Diabetes Associations Clothing line through Value Village and it’s a great organization. I’m sure the funds raised will go to great research, etc.

We’re going through something similar in my house. We’re planning on moving out to New Brunswick next summer and taking only one truck so alot has to just go, go, go! We’re holding the monster of all yard sales to get some money for moving expenses and donating the rest, including any big stockpile excess.

Have a good move, Peterborough-buddies! I’ll miss y’all when we’re gone :p
