January 9, 2026

♻️ Canadians Can Now Prepare to Claim Compensation in the Keurig K‑Cup Recycling Settlement

If you purchased Keurig K‑Cup Pods or Keurig coffee machines in Canada anytime between June 8, 2016 and December 8, 2025, you may be eligible for compensation. A national class‑action settlement regarding allegedly misleading recyclability claims on Keurig K‑Cup packaging has now been approved by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, paving the way for Canadians to file claims now that the claim period has officially opened.

💰 What’s the Settlement About?

The lawsuit alleged that Keurig Canada Inc. made misleading representations about the recyclability and/or disposability of its K‑Cup Pods. While the Court did not rule on the truth of these allegations, Keurig agreed to a settlement as a compromise, without admitting liability.

On December 8, 2025, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice approved the settlement, confirming it is fair, reasonable, and in the best interests of Canadians who purchased affected products.

Under the settlement:

  • Keurig will pay $1.85 million into a fund
  • This amount will cover:
    • Cash compensation for approved claims
    • Administration and notice costs
    • Court‑approved legal fees

This settlement applies to all Canadians (except excluded persons) who purchased Keurig Pods or Brewers sold in packaging containing the challenged recyclability representations.

💵 Expected Compensation Structure

For K‑Cup Pods:

  • No proof of purchase:
    • Up to $7 per claim form
  • With proof of purchase:

      OR
