If you were trying to buy the small snuggle boxes for 99 cents, you cannot use a dollar coupon on them. You can't use a coupon that is more than the value of the product, and they can't simply take the coupon and give you the boxes because it all has to balance. Usually there is a limit, and it is a common problem at my Canadian Tire, but all the cashiers know not to put those through. If you did wait until the sale was over, then they would be able to process it, because the coupon would be more than the original price. Try not to be rude to the people that work in these stores, they don't like you more than you don't like them, and if you are rude, you are certain not to get what you want.
