We went out this evening and did a little shop. Nothing that extreme but there were some good deals this week and today was the first chance I had to run out and pick them up. Little did I know, that wouldn’t be the only time I had to go out this evening.

So we went to Walmart to get everything we wanted, as per usual. LOL Unfortunately, the experience at check-out was not something I had come to expect from my store. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t all bad. The majority of my items she rang through without a problem, including price matched items. She also took all of my coupons without issue. The problem came with the last to items, the tin foil. The Rexall coupon booklet has a coupon for Alcan Aluminum Foil 25′ for $0.99. We just ran out the other night so I decided it was a necessary and well priced purchase.

Now there has been some confusion regarding the Rexall coupons and the Walmart competitor coupon policy. How it was explained to me, is that Walmart will not physically take a competitor coupon from a customer. Instead, they use the savings on the coupon to adjust (like price matching) the product down to what it would be if the coupon was applied.

This cashier was unaware of the fact that Walmart had this policy in effect. She tried repeatedly to explain to me that they will only price match out of a flyer and they do not accept competitor coupons at all. She did this about 3 or 4 times before I finally got a word in edge-wise. So I politely explained the policy, and she again told me about the price match policy. After hearing her out once more, I couldn’t stand the condescending tone she had with me so I asked to speak to a CSM. Instead of her going to a CSM she asked another cashier. The other cashier didn’t know either. So then I had to wait longer for a CSM to actually be called and show up at the till. It took about 40 seconds for the CSM to look it over and give the cashier the go ahead. The cashier was unhappy about it but did what she was told (while throwing my foil in the bag).

So I paid and left with my purchases. Its about a 15 minute drive through town to get from our house to Walmart and another 15 mins back. I got home and started to take things out of the bags and discovered that the cashier didn’t put the 2 tubs of Philly Cream Cheese in my bag! I immediately dialed the store and spoke to customer service. She did go to the till and find the tubs still sitting beside the register. She told me to bring my receipt in and they would give me 2 cold tubs when I returned. So Ryan and I got back in the car, and drove all the way back to get our 2 tubs of Philly. The CSR told me I didn’t have to come back today but I didn’t trust that if I went back tomorrow and she wasn’t working that I wouldn’t get my Philly! I was pretty upset that the cashier was more preoccupied with trying to prove me wrong then making sure all of my items were given to me. Yes, I know I probably should’ve noticed but I was feeling quite flustered after the competitor coupon issue and just wanted to get out of there.

But all in all it turned out alright! Here’s what I got:

3x Green Works Wipes 30 count $1.97 ea – $3 wub3 coupon = $0.97 ea
