I can’t believe it. I just looked back, and it’s been almost a year since I’ve done a shopping post :-O I know – I’m stunned!

Now, don’t think I haven’t been shopping in a year, I have – just not a lot. Ryan and I had accumulated quite the stockpile and decided last year to make a serious effort to survive off what we already had. We all but stopped “coupon shops” and I just used coupons as needed along with the regular meats and produce I bought.

Well, I’ve noticed our stock is running critically low so it’s time to get back into the swing of things! I headed out to Walmart tonight for a shop and had so much fun I don’t know how I ever survived with out stockpile shopping in my life LOL Here’s what I got:

0509-main

15 x Glade Aerosols @ $1 – $5 wus $15 coupon – $6.25 SS rebates
2 x Hawaiian Punch @ $1 (PM RCSS) – $1 coupon
1 x Toilet Duck @ $2 (PM Canadian Tire) – $1 coupon
1 x Air Wick Car Freshener @ $3.97 – $1 coupon – $3.97 MIR
4 x Diana Sauce @ $1.97
1 x Old El Paso Salsa @ $2 (PM FreshCo)
4 x VH Steamers @ $2.97 (PM NoFrills) – $1 tearpad
1 x Delissio Pizza @ $3.33 – $2 coupon
3 x Right Guard deodorant @ $2 – $2 coupon
1 x Axe Shower Gel @ $3.96 – $2 coupon
1 x Quaker Soft Bake Cookies @ $2.47 – $1.50 coupon
2 x Blueberries @ $2 (PM NoFrills)
1 x Magnum  bars @ $4.99 (PM YIG) – $1 coupon – $1 rebate
1 x Fruttare bars @ $4.99 (PM YIG) – $1 coupon – $1 rebate
20 x Oral-B toothbrushes @ $1 (clearance) – $2.50 wub2 coupon
6 x Oral-B toothbrushes @ $1 (clearance) – $3.50 wub2 coupon
4 x Oral-B toothbrushes @ $1 (clearance) – $1 coupon

The toothbrushes was the mother of all deals! I was so excited! You see, my original plan was to PM the Oral B toothbrushes from NoFrills for $1.97. I had some of them in my cart and was pushing my way merrily along the aisle when I stumbled across an end cap full of premium Oral B toothbrushes marked as Clearance for $1! I couldn’t believe it. I grabbed a few of them and went to the price checker and sure enough, they rang up as $1!! I went back to the shelf, put back the other brushes and proceeded to load up! Don’t worry – I didn’t clear the shelf either. There were plenty still remaining 🙂

I will keep about half for our stockpile and the other half will go into our donation pile.

In total, the approximate retail price for everything was $217.89.
Out of pocket, after coupons & price matching I paid $41.95 plus I will also get a little over $10 back in rebates.
My total savings on this trip was about $165 or 82%.

I haven’t saved that much in a single shopping trip in a long time! My cashier, as well as another behind us and the ladies who lined up at the same register were all so enthusiastic about my savings, I told them all about SaL, of course 😉

Have you gotten any good deals so far this week? What are you planning on picking up? Tell us all about it, and feel free to share your shopping hauls on the SaveaLoonie Facebook Page, I’d love to see them!
