On Friday, we posted about the unsettling Nature’s Touch Organic Berry Cherry Blend Recall.

This product; sold at Costco in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador, is being recalled after multiple cases of Hepatitis A have been linked to consumption of the frozen berries, some even requiring hospitalization!

The Public Health Agency of Canada suggests anyone exposed to the recalled product or have symptoms of Hep A should see their health care provider immediately.

In light of this recall, the PHAC says Costco Canada is now offering FREE Hepatitis A vaccinations to anyone who has been affected by this recall. The vaccine can prevent onset of symptoms if given within 2 weeks of exposure.

Reports vary whether or not the vaccine is ready to be distributed in specific stores, but it looks like it started at 8am in most locations. If you are affected by this, I strongly suggest first calling ahead to your local Costco store for more information.
